The Challenge

It’s hard not to picture dusty churches and nuns with rulers when someone mentions Catholic School. Eager to overcome their stereotypes and rebrand their image with an educative and compassionate face, the Catholic Schools Office approached the vibrant team at Wild and Free.

ne Mason & Artists came to Wild and Free Media with a challenge that we had not yet faced as a company. We were asked to transform Newcastle’s City Hall into a more user-friendly site and disguise the current renovations taking place on the monumental building.

City Hall was still to have the same look prior to renovations, allowing the building to blend in with the current city scape, and not be overtaken by scaffolding and building work

The Wild Solution

Our Wild team brought colour back into Newcastle’s Catholic schools. We focused on revitalising each schools branding with bold and modern designs that stayed true to their mission statements. We worked with schools like St Joseph’s, St Mary’s and All Saints College, acknowledging each as their own community with unique qualities.

We used this refreshed branding to rejuvenate each school’s logos, signage, uniforms, stationary and collateral. The creative team contemporised each school’s presence in the community, while staying true to their history and core values. Armed with a modern face that showcased their dedication to teaching, nurturing and support, the Catholic Schools office were ready to shed their outdated image.
